In the Isle of Man’s picturesque Union Mills, our client had grand designs in mind for their big home refit.

Refurbishing one room led to revamping another. Handling most of the renovation work themselves, it soon became clear that this was rapidly becoming ‘a bit of a project’.

But when it came to the kitchen, it simply had to be HAUS.

“When Bob (HAUS Design Director) first came to look, there was a wall here and this was still two rooms,” our client explained.

“Basically, I wanted to move the kitchen from where it used to be. It was visible from the road, and I didn’t really like that. And we had another room adjoining that was kind of a redundant living room. I wanted to maximise the space, really, and improve privacy.”

Once the wall came tumbling down, our team got to work.

Some of our clients’ favourite additions? Large pull-out cupboards that fully utilised previously unused space, open shelving, a breakfast bar position with a great view of the garden, and a Bora downdraft extractor.

With a summer oak finish and strata worktops, the overall aesthetic is clean, warming, and thoroughly contemporary.

“It ended up exactly as we’d envisaged,” our client said. “I didn’t have many alterations to make. This is what HAUS came up with, and I was so happy with it.”
