Mr & Mrs Y, Crosby
It is beautiful… As soon as we had the new kitchen done, we went, ‘Why did we not do this years ago?’
Walls came tumbling down to create this stunning Crosby kitchen.
When we’re crafting an extraordinary space, it’s not rare for the HAUS team to carry out a little… home restructuring.
“It was two rooms: a utility and a separate kitchen,” our clients said. “And it’s funny now, but I can’t even remember what it was like when it wasn’t this one big space! It feels like it was meant to be.”
“We didn’t have a wishlist, as such. More an extensive brief. We even typed it out! We wanted to take the walls down and make these two rooms into one. All the appliances to be hidden away. A big fridge freezer/larder fridge. And we were always quite cold in the old kitchen, so a big radiator was a must.”
“We were after something that was very neutral, timeless, and functional… and dog-friendly!”
Brief in hand, we got to work planning, designing, and fitting a flawless open layout centred on superior LEICHT kitchen furniture.
Next up? Exquisite appliances – and those extra flourishes:
“The other thing in the brief was that I wanted a double oven, because I do quite a lot of baking. Our old one was freestanding with a gas hob, and it was a pain using the bottom oven, especially with a very curious beagle.”
“So I wanted the proper Bake Off oven, with the slidey door and everything!”
“I gave Claire (HAUS Sales & Kitchen Designer) the full list, and she made it all happen. They even thought of the small details that might seem silly. We had a Brabantia bin that the dog learned to open, and now we have a hidden bin! It’s things like that that make all the difference.”
Final thoughts?
“It is beautiful. We’ve been in the house since it was built. As soon as we had the new kitchen done, we went, ‘Why did we not do this years ago?’”
