This kitchen in Douglas, Isle of Man, started life as a cramped galley. It felt cut off, isolated, and definitely on the small side. It’s the kind of issue we often see.

The new vision was bold: get rid of the dividing walls and an old fireplace to open everything up into a single, large, light-filled space. It was no small job. But the transformation is nothing short of astonishing.

The whole area now feels truly connected and infinitely more inviting. What used to be separate rooms is now a brilliant, open space for the family to cook, eat, and spend time together.

And that beautiful original wood floor? We gave it a new lease of life, stripping it back and refinishing it with a light, pale stain that perfectly ties the larger room together.
